Remvi Villa
Crete, Chania, Stalos
4.7 out of 5 from 20  reviews

Villa Remvi is a three level villa built on the top of a hill, just 600m from the sea, offering an amazing view of the sea, the Thodorou islet and the lower Stalos Village. Lower Stalos is a waterfront touristic village that is located 8 km away from the city of Chania. It is made-up by a long, endless, sandy, awarded a blue flag beach and a very lively waterfront with numerous cafes, restaurants, taverns and bars located along the seaside road.

The name of the villa is not accidental. Remvi means reverie…You can seat on the garden furniture on the verandas or on the beach chairs around the private pool and be lost in your thought. The area is peaceful and the view majestic. In the garden there are a barbecue and a traditional stone oven, where you can cook delicious dishes.

The villa has two entrances; one on the first level and one on the third level. The first level consists of a spacious dining room with an open plan kitchen, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, a bathroom and an utility room. One more double bed is found on a mezzanine floor. A spiral staircase leads to the second level where one more double bedroom is found. The living room with the fireplace is on the third level. A bathroom and a veranda complete this level. Few stairs lead from this level to a mezzanine floor with a double bed and a bathroom.

Covid-19 policy update

On Monday 13/04/2020, Greek Government Gazette published a new regulation (ΦΕΚ 84/Α/13-4-2020, Article 70) to help Greek tourism businesses (hotels and travel agencies) to avoid bankruptcy, due to the unprecedented number of cancellations caused by the pandemic.

The regulation allows these businesses to reimburse customers with 18-month vouchers instead of cash refunds, if these businesses are obliged, based on their policy, to refund any amount that the customers have paid in advanced. The regulation is valid for cancellations made between 25/02/2020 to 30/09/2020.

Holidaymakers will not lose their money and will have the chance to use their booking towards another holiday at a future date with the same business. If, for any reason, customers will not use the voucher within 18 months, businesses will be required to refund the initial amount of the bookings to the customers.

  • Remvi Villa

    Period of Stay: May 2017
This villa sits above the resort of Kato Stalos and as such is not overlooked and has splendid views from the balconies and the pool. Its a short steep walk down to the beach and numerous bars. Very close to Chania which is a bonus. The outdoor areas are particularly nice and the living room on the top floor is unusually comfortable for a holiday villa with more excellent views. Clean and comfortable, spacious and nicely furnished and represented very good value during our stay in spring. The bathrooms are fine but could benefit from some updating, and but for these I would have rated at 5.
  • Super Nice Villa

    Period of Stay: Jun 2016
We was a group of 6 adults and 2 children, and stayed for 1 week at Remvi Villa. The property was really nice and the villa was clean and maintained. The staff was welcoming and helpfull. The view from the villa is stunning, as it is situated on a top of a hill. Quiet and friendly neighbourhood.

There is no need for a car, it only took us a couple of minutes to walk down the hill. When we bought groceries, we took a taxi back home - cost only a few euros.

We will definitely stay here again at next trip to Crete!

  • a wondeful holiday in June 2016

    Period of Stay: Jun 2016
We were a big group of 10 people, family and friends in this beautiful property. We had enough space for 3 differnet generations and a lot of fun in the pool. The house is very well situated at the end of a calm street, above the villlage with a fantastic sea view and the impressiv mountains in the back. As it was not yet to hot ,we could visit Chania and other attractions nearby. The service of George and the other helpful people was perfect and very friendly. Thank you!
  • Magical Holiday at Remvi Villa

    Period of Stay: May 2016
We are a family of 9 persons aged 69 yrs (grandad) to 7 yrs (grandson) and have just returned from a a truly magical holiday at Remvi Villa. The property & views are even more spectacular than shown on your site. The property owners, George, Catherina and Stephanos were very welcoming, helpful and obliging. They recommended the taverna just down the hill from the property and it was fabulous. Delicious food, drink and hospitality. Really felt like we were eating in a genuine Greek household. We will be back and will be recommending Remvi Villa to our family and friends.
  • remvi villa

    Period of Stay: Sep 2015
Rental of the villa and thd car was easy. The villa was comfortable and roomy enough for 9 people. Children will enjoy your holiday swimmmg pool. People were really friendly and happy in every place. Recommended for car hire because of the location of the villa. We could come again. A good place! Thank you very much!!
  • My stay

    Period of Stay: Sep 2015
Lovely accommodation with great elevated position over looking Stalos and sea on one side and the white mountains on the other side. We were spoilt for choice in where to sleep as there were five bedrooms and only 2 of us. Recommend hiring a car with a decent size engine as we hired a Car that struggled to get put the hill especially with the Air con switched on.
  • Remvi Villa, Chania, Crete

    Period of Stay: Jul 2015
Fantastic villa and great pool, enough space for 2 families. We were 9 persons and we were all very pleased. Close to shops and beach, but a tough walk up the hill to the house. The owner was very friendly and recommended where to go etc. We love Crete and would like to come back. Weather, food, people - all fantastic. I would highly recommend this to anyone who want a fantastic stay in Crete.
  • Great Getaway

    Period of Stay: Jun 2015
We stayed in Remvi Villa 9 girls for 11 days We had a lovely stay and lot of memories that we will cherish forever. The Villa was over all very good. The view from the Villa are truly stunning because the villa is situated at the top of a hill, it afforded huge panoramic view over the ocean, the village and the mountains ....which even the local taxi drivers found breath taking! The sundeck and the swimming pool is very nice and clean, lot of sunbeds We would not hesitate to recommend this villa, and would definitely stay here again. You do not need a car if you like to walk, you can easily walk down the hill and it is a good exercise to walk up the hill and you can also just call a taxi we did that sometimes. But we recommend car for people how can not walk. The Cleaning service was changing the bed linen and the towels but no other cleaning during our stay in the Villa.
The bedrooms are fine some of them are small but you dont need big rooms, 2 rooms are with no doors so you do not have good privacy if you are staying in the Villa with many couples. It did not bother us the girls. There are 3 bathrooms. The Living room on the second floor is very nice and the kitchen are especially big and spacious. We ate out most nights, there are lot of nice restaurants. It was very nice to go to Amethystos restaurant just down the hill, it is a family restaurant where the mother cooked, the father made the wine and the kids served, we often went there to buy the fathers red wine.
  • First week in Crete

    Period of Stay: Aug 2014
Villa remvi is a very large villa with incredible views to the front and rear. Only a 10 min walk to the main road, BUT a very steep and slippy one- not for those less active!! 2 of the double bedrooms were not private as neither had doors! The upstairs bedroom not only didn't have a door, but had large windows to 3 sides which made it tricky when dressing etc!! Also, the shower area in the upper bedroom was minute and did not have a curtain- again this required a lot of juggling!! But we managed. However, overall the pool area was lovely and views superb all around.
  • wonderful villa

    Period of Stay: May 2014
Just came back from a lovely stay at Remvi villa in Chania. Great location, spacious well presented house and one of the best views I've ever seen! Only down side was my toddling baby constantly trying to climb the stairs but we managed to block them off with a sofa! Would recommend highly!
  • Villa Remvi

    Period of Stay: Sep 2013
This is an outstanding property. The bathrooms could do with a bit of attention but everything works. The location is stunning but it is a bit of a walk back up from the coastal strip after a good dinner. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here. Amethystos restaurant just down the hill is excellent and you can try Markos for a bit of something different. We ate out most nights and never had a bad experience. You can stand and look at a different view from each side of the building. Each one is special. You can follow the sun around balcony by balcony. The maid service twice a week was very good and the beds are made with clean towels at the same time. The pool is regularly serviced and very clean, We had a thoroughly good time.
  • Stunning views

    Period of Stay: Jul 2013
The views from the Villa are truly stunning and the standard within the Villa is very high. You do need a car as the hill up to the Villa is quite steep but once there you can relax in the peace a quiet. I was impressed by how often the bed linen was changed which was an extra bonus---as were the fresh figs which regularly appeared. The instructions to the Villa were straightforward and we were welcomed and shown around at the agreed time. All in all one of the better Villas I have stayed in around Stalos and would highly recommend it.
  • Fantastic Villa

    Period of Stay: Jun 2013
We stayed here the first two weeks in July 2013 to celebrate a 60th birthday in a special way with family. On arrival we could not have been more pleased with the villa as it surpassed all expectations. The accommodation was extremely spacious, very well equipped and comfortable (beds included!). As the villa is situated at the top of a hill, it afforded huge panoramic views of the ocean, the village and the mountains behind ....which even the local taxi drivers found breath taking! Memories to cherish forever. It is owned by a local family who renovated it in 2010 to a very high spec. Stavros, Stella and son George were extremely welcoming, helpful and could not do enough for us, with gifts of fresh eggs and oranges. All this contributed to us having a very enjoyable holiday here. We would not hesitate in recommending this villa, and would definitely stay here again if another family celebration arises in the future. Top marks for lovely gifts on departure...we were very touched.
  • Best holiday ever!

    Period of Stay: Oct 2012
With 10 friends we have enjoyed the Remvi villa for only a week (sadly) but is was wonderful! One of the best vacations we ever had. The area is greatl, with Chania nearby and some nice walkingtrips not far away. I would recommend a car to get around, but for some light shopping or groceries you can easely walk down the hill. The house itself is beautiful, with all the things you can ask for. The view from the pool is spectaculare and later at night you can enjoy the brick-kiln to make your own pizza's! We would recommend this place to everyone.
  • Excellent

    Period of Stay: Aug 2012
We had a pleasant stay in this beautiful house. As we arrived, someone was waiting for us with refreshments and cakes (good thought after a travel of 7-8 hours long and a short night of sleep) We then discovered every rooms, some of them are small, but you're in Crete, you won't have your all day long into your room. Living rooms (yes there are 2) and kitchen are especially big and spacious. Swimming pool is very clean, as the barbecue and oven (perfect for pizza) I can surely recommand this house, your contact is there for every needs and can give you precious advice Just one con : 2 rooms are doors less which means you have no kind of privacy
  • Stalos Villa Review

    Period of Stay: May 2012
I would thoroughly recommend this villa. Upon arriving we were greeted within five minutes even though we arrived over an hour early than we were expected. The owners were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The villa itself could not have been better. It is situated upon quite a steep hill but is not too difficult to get to. It easily accommodated all 10 people within our group without feeling crowded. I would thoroughly recommend going to this villa and would go back there myself, the neighbours were second to none and we're hospitable to a group of 21 year olds. Definitely a good place to go.
  • lovely villa

    Period of Stay: Jun 2012
We stayed at this villa in june 2012, the weather was fantastic and the villa was lovely. The Villa was very clean and very well equiped, and the owner was only ever a phone call away should you needed anything. You do need a car as the villa is not fair from town, but its along a steep uphill unlit road. We would recommend this villa if you are looking for something quiet and out of the way.
  • Period of Stay: Jul 2012
Villa is large, clean and in a good condition. A car is a must. The villa is attached on one side to another villa. Ideal for large families. Lovely view of the sea. Tourist shops and beach only 5 mins by car, Chania old town 30 mins.
  • Remvi Villa : Paradise on earth!

    Period of Stay: Apr 2012
The house was pretty good comfortable, many rooms, many bathrooms... Eveything was in the house, so, no needs to buy anything (for the w-machine for ex.). The Cretan hospitality is a real concept! You need a car to go the house but the view is wonderfull. Un séjour vraiment génial dans une maison des plus agréables, que demander de plus? Tout était parfait! A recommander pour les familles ou les groupes d'amis!!
  • Remvi Villa

    Period of Stay: Apr 2012
This is the first time that I have ever agreed to write a review of a holiday villa however I am very pleased to put down a few notes on Remvi Villa. The villa is lovely, it is huge and could comforatbly sleep 10 people. It is also very well looked after with the pool cleaned and maintained twice a week. The key thing was that we were cared for and made to feel so welcome. We arrived in Crete at 10 oclock at night and after picking up the car and varous diversions did not get to the villa until about 2am. The last bit of hte journey was easy because of the photos that accompanied the directions. we were meet at the villa with water and milk in the fridge, fruit on the table and sandwiches in a box. We had regular visist to make sure we were OK and left with a gift of honey and olive oil which we are all enjoying now we are back in the UK Lovely villa and one that I would highly recommend
