Villa Danae is located in Kontomari, 5min from Maleme. A pretty country track wanders gently upwards through ancient olive groves until it reaches the villa, which enjoys breathtaking view over the coastline from Kolimbari in the west to the Akrotiri peninsular in the east. Although modern, Danae has a decidedly rural, well-established feel; its earth and ochre colours let it blend into the Cretan countryside. Inside, the decoration is based on natural textures and colours, with wooden ceilings and stone floors. Villa Danae is very comfortable with a very high standard of modern amenities.
The villa is secluded, built on a private property, on an area covered with olive groves. Outside, a swimming pool and a barbecue with a covered pergola for alfresco dining, allow full enjoyment of the rural setting and the panoramic view. The trim garden is full of trees – mainly olive trees - and colourful flowers and a place where kids can play safely.
The villa is built on three floors. The main entrance is on the middle floor, which comprises the living room, with the modern furniture and the fireplace, the fully equipped kitchen with the dining area and a bathroom. A French door opens to the terrace with the pool and the BBQ area. On the upper floor there are one twin and one double bedroom with en-suite bathrooms and a cute, warm corner with a table and a chair, ideal for reading and writing. Both bedrooms have private balconies with view to the pool, the olive groves, the village of Maleme and the blue Cretan Sea. From the living room, stairs lead to the lower floor, where a cosy sitting room and a twin bedroom are found. The bedroom has a window and a door that opens to the garden. Next to the door, stairs lead to the pool.
The villa is secluded, built on a private property of 20.000 sq.m. covered with olive trees. From the terrace and balconies you can enjoy the views of the green landscape with the small traditional villages, the north coastline, and the glittering waters of the Cretan Sea.
Covid-19 policy update
On Monday 13/04/2020, Greek Government Gazette published a new regulation (ΦΕΚ 84/Α/13-4-2020, Article 70) to help Greek tourism businesses (hotels and travel agencies) to avoid bankruptcy, due to the unprecedented number of cancellations caused by the pandemic.
The regulation allows these businesses to reimburse customers with 18-month vouchers instead of cash refunds, if these businesses are obliged, based on their policy, to refund any amount that the customers have paid in advanced. The regulation is valid for cancellations made between 25/02/2020 to 30/09/2020.
Holidaymakers will not lose their money and will have the chance to use their booking towards another holiday at a future date with the same business. If, for any reason, customers will not use the voucher within 18 months, businesses will be required to refund the initial amount of the bookings to the customers.
