Metochi Villa is a new-built villa built on a hillside, offering wonderful panoramic view over the countryside, the sea and the distant mountains. In less than 5min drive you can find everything you may need for your stay. The property is surrounded by olive groves and is a perfect place for relaxation, hearing the sound of the cicadas love song...
The most impressive point of the beautiful garden is the infinity pool at the terrace edge. Next to the pool there is a big children's pool. Under a wooden pergola there are sunbeds, where you can have your sunbath admiring the view. A wooden dining set is found in front of the villa, while the sitting set on the roof offers an amazing view. Behind the villa, next to the kitchen, there are a barbecue and a stone oven.
The security front door opens to an open area that consists of the beautiful decorated seating area and dining area. French door leads to the terrace and the pool. On the same floor there is a bathroom and few steps lead to the kitchen. On the first floor there are a double and a twin bedroom, both with ensuite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a balcony with panoramic pool and sea view and one more overlooking the olive trees and the distant mountains.
The new-built Metochi Villa is a beautiful stone house, decorated with unique and elegant pieces.

Relaxing holidays !!!
The villa is beautifully designed with tastefully furniture and equipped with really everything you need. WIFI worked well, cleaning was done twice a week and our host was very service-minded – at arrival he waited while our flight was late and we were welcomed with drinks and food for the first night. Thank you!
Secluded by an electrical gate to the street and finding the neighbor absent we felt very secure and private. A car is recommended and it is a short and nice drive to the seaside of Kolymvari where you can find beautiful restaurants and some supermarkets. The hills around invite to explore them on picturesque small roads.
Chania is not far away. We would highly recommend this villa and hope to return again.
Best equipped villa in lovely setting
The location is excellent for touring the western half of Crete, and we made day trips to many beaches and villages, including on the south coast. The drives are spectacular, with mountains, and vegetation, and goats galore. Chania is a charming city and we had several great meals there, and also one day in Rethymnon.
The allied war memorial cemetery at Souda Bay is worth a visit, and provides some insight into the Cretan experience during WWII.
I would recommend this villa to anyone looking for a smaller accommodation - perfect for 2 - 4.
The house itself is lovely.
Nice and spacious and absolutely stunning views. The house was very clean as well and the cleaner came after 4 days of staying to clean again.
The bedrooms are a good size and there is a good sized living accommodation.
The pool is unheated and in April very cold. We braved the cold water, but if you like your water warm, then this pool is not for you. Personally I think a solar panel with some pool heater connected would likely make this a lot more comfortable.
The owner of the house is very nice and very quick with helping. We were unfortunate and on the first night at around 00:30, just when heading to bed we heard a running water noise. Turns out the drain was blocked.
Owner was there 40 minutes later and assisted so we could get through the night.
The next morning (Easter Sunday) around 10AM he was there with a plumber with professional equipment. We were very impressed. They eventually flushed out two linen nappies which must have been flushed through the toilet by some people that stayed in here before us.
Issue was then swiftly resolved. Since it was Easter, we were left with a basket with chocolates, painted eggs, biscuits for our kids and a massive bottle of water to get us through the morning as most of the shops were closed for Easter.
WIFI: The house has wifi via a mifi connection. We found this fast enough to use our amazon kindle fire stick to stream video on the tv for our kids.
The house is probably around 20 minutes drive from Chania via the "old road".
You'll need a car to get around.
The "old road" is a lovely road with on the side close to the property, loads and loads of shops, restaurants. We found a supermarket open here on Easter Sunday.
Chania itself is absolutely stunning and not to be missed.
We found the Greek people to be very friendly and love the tradition of getting a complimentary raki and cake in most restaurants.
We would recommend this property
Beautiful villa for a relaxing stay
The villa itself is large with plenty of space. The villa has all your regular mod cons but the roof terrace and the pool are to die for. From the roof terrace all you can see if the ocean in the distance while at the same time being surrounded by Olive Trees. If it's a relaxing break you are after then this is the place for you.
The villa is only a 20 mins drive from Chania and it's old port. However, we particularly enjoyed the little fishing village of Kolymvari which is only 5 mins drive from the villa. Here you will find all manner of tavernas serving fresh fish and traditional Cretan dishes.
All in all this was an amazing holiday. We would like to thank the owners and Chania rentals for giving us our dream vacation.
La villa est proche de kolympari où vous trouverez de nombreux restaurants .
Ideal villa and fantastic views
We love to cook so we were really delighted with the 'outdoor kitchen' which boasted a wonderful wood-burning bbq and pizza oven!! Mobile wifi is provided free of charge, so needless to say our teenagers were happy!! Full cleaning service provided midweek. The villa is surrounded by beautiful olive groves and offers a stunning view of the sea...
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Metochi Villa and hope to return again... Thank you Manos and Despina, for everything!
Perfect Holidays in Greece May 2016
Throughout our stay the villa was maintained twice a week by an excellent maid service who did an impressive job. The benefit of the children's pool was an added bonus and our children made full use of it daily, and the addition of the pool toys were also much appreciated, as was the cat that the kids adored !
Car hire is essential in order to explore some of the islands fabulous beaches, particularly Elafonsi and Balos. We visited many tavernas on the island, although the best we found were in local Travitoritus, which aside from the excellent food were very hospitable, and even had children play areas, and many offered free dessert and a glass of raki.
Lovely Villa, Lovely Location, Lovely Owners
We had a wonderful time at Metochi villa
Great time in a great home
Wonderful holiday in Chania
Relaxing, Comfortable, Clean!
wonderful and relaxing holidays
Two weeks in heaven
fantastic villa and location
Beautiful villa and location!
We were very lucky with weather and highly recommend this villa to families and to to those that want to explore. Car hire is essential but it takes just minutes to drive from the villa to the local beaches and shops, restaurants etc. The view from the villa overlooking the mountains and sea is amazing and was a real treat waking up to every morning. The only negatives for us was having to come home!
a wonder experience!
Metochi Villa review (July 2013)
Fantastic Villa & Holiday
Wonderful & Magical
Waether was great 29 or 30 most days only one day of rain in 2 wks which we were not expecting as it was so late. Due to this time of year there were people around but not at all busy. It is about 5 mins drive from villa to main road which runs along coast. So you can go right to Tavronitis, Maleme, Platanias, Chania or left to Kolymbari, Kissimos etc. Also you can get onto the highway left or right and get to these locations a bit quicker as the road is faster but parallel. There are no real sandy beaches near locally but you can reach them 15mins either way.
We loved Kolymbari - fishing village, lovely local restaurants all next to each other along sea front, great cafe / cocktail bar on waters edge. We also loved Chania - like a cross between Venice and Morocco! Great atmosphere in old town, fab restaurants, lots of quirky shops, market , port etc.
Beaches - for an amazing drive in mountains and past a Gorge which we stopped to look down into Elafonisi - we only wish we had set off earlier - it takes about 1 hour 15 mins. Hard to describe - lagoon, waters a bit like the Caribbean - you cann walk through lagoon to the island just fantastic! Falasarna - not on Sundays though as all the locals go there and so busy - about 30 drive from villa huge huge sand beach - we went past the 'Big Beach' further on there is sand and snorkling.
The best of all was Balor - we saw the sign on the road on way back from Falasarna - though you could only get there by boat from Kissimos but there is a road - well not quite a road! It\'s an adventure - you need to be brave - mountain edges, you're on a rocky track and nothing on the edges - best hire a jeep for the day - we had a small compact car and drove in first gear the whole 25 mins. But fantastic, spectacular! When you get to the top you park and then walk 2 k down the mountain to the amazing lagoon. There is a taverna where you park the car and some quirky surpirses!! If you\'re not brave take the boat from Kissimos for the day - the views and the beach just out of this world literally!!!
This villa is fab location for mountains and beaches and local places - if you want nightlife you need to drive 15 - 20 mins to the more lively Platanias or Kissimos - if you like bars and food then they are just 5 - 10 mins away.
Can't praise our hosts enough - even when we locked ourselves out - they sorted it out while we were at the beach - all stree free!
